Absolution (Hymn) heralds a sudden change in feel—a release; something of both melancholy and peace. Some of the later chord progressions are hymn-like in style, and particularly suited to the piano upon which it was recorded—one that feels a little more ‘traditional’ than many of the currently-in-vogue piano pieces of the genre.
